I am using the latest download of Kunena.
I am getting alot of spambots posting as there is no badwords filter in Kunena.
If the Captcha worked this would at least prevent some of the posts.
I have set the Captcha to Yes:

Spam protection system (Set to Yes) Antispam and antibot CAPTCHA system On/Off

But I have no Captcha.

The captcha mechanism does work in K 1.5 but you need to know how to enable it. The following topics will help:

I tried moovum personally I don't think it is any good.

As for only public posting enabling the Captcha in Kunena is there not a id number ie switching the public id to registered id that would enable the Captcha system.

That's a good question, stgeorge. I think this is one of the first questions I asked here when I joined this site - even though I've never actually used the CAPTCHA system in an operational way.

16 months ago I was told that the CAPTCHA system only works if you allow your users to post without them having to login. I don't believe that the method has changed in K 1.5 over time.

Well I have tried adjusting the ID for // Begin captcha in:
components/com_kunena/template/default/fb_write.html.php
components/com_kunena/template/default/post.php
Throws out the CSS.

I already have Security Images installed but have installed Moovour to try it out again.
Better than the last time I tried it but how to get this into Kunena I have no idea.
I also tried ReCaptcha but that messes with the whole board.

I just wish there was someway of getting Captcha into Kunena.

It really needs it.

Kunena also needs a BadWords filter too.

I have installed ccBoard as it has both Captcha and Badwords Filter but that does not create Child Categories. Imported Kunena into it no problem though. Just needed to change a couple lines in the file tools.php located in:
administrator\components\com_ccboard\models\
from com_fireboard to com_kunena.

So will keep looking

Well I have cracked it sort of.

I have posted a Solution here:
winfoes.co.uk/forum/Joomla-Extensions/78...-Registered-Users#78

It is still ongoing but it works.

Addendum:
Initially it appears the database query is prolonged into the site using Opera however using Firefox it is normal.
Maybe it is because was refreshing Opera to try the different files I uploaded.
