What is the purpose of the 3 avatar sizes in the configuration? I do not understand this.

I'm still trying to figure this out, myself. :(

As far as I can tell...

*Small Image controls the avatar you see on the top of the Catagories index page, next to "Welcome, (Username)". And, I think, the User List?

*Medium Image controls the avatar next to your forum posts.

*Large Image - Unsure.

If someone else has a more informed answer, that would be appreciated. This has been puzzling me for some time.

Yes that's a good answer, Cerberus, but I think we need to look again at the question, which I interpreted to mean "how and where does Kunena use these three different values?"

I don't know the answer so I'm just guessing. I think Moonstone got it right with the first two values. I suspect that the "large image" setting applies to the avatar image display on the Kunena user profile page. I could be wrong.

That's what I was thinking, as well, but wasn't sure.

It would be wonderful if that might somehow be made to be more clear in future releases. The description area in the admin backend is blank, so it would just require a little blurb to relieve a lot of confusion.

I know the devs are crazy busy with K1.6, but something to keep in mind in the future.

You're right with your presumption.
There no original avatar after the upload. These are all reduced at a minimum number of bytes.
"Large Image" you find in "My Profile / My Avatar / Your Avatar" (where you can change the avatar).
Make a klick with right mouse, and look the characteristics from this avatar. It is "l_userid.jpg".

This setting is in k1.6 currently not existing. Only the "Max. Avatar Filesize
in Kilobytes" and "Quality".

Greet, rich
