Question Deleting a Thread by Admin

Hi Everyone:

I'd like to be able to delete a thread on my forum that is no longer relevant. In some cases the users who created the thread are long gone. So far, the only way I found of doing this as an admin, is going into the thread and manually deleting posts one at a time until the thread finally goes away. I'm guessing that there must be an easier way of doing this. Please let me know.

Sincerely,
Howard

Hello,

I see what you want achieve, but it's not possible to do that maybe the prune option in backend will be helpful.

I don't provide support by PM, because this can be useful for someone else.

Yes, you can not only delete a thread, you can deleted multiple threads from the same category at the one time.

As an administrator/moderator, go to the Categories view, select a category and then locate the thread(s) that you want to delete. Notice there is a checkbox on the right, next to each topic, in the column headed [X]? Mark the topic.

At the bottom of the page you have two "pull-downs" next to a "Go" button. Using the left of those two pull-downs, select the Delete option. Press Go. Topics are gone. :)

Thanks sozzled. Very simple. How come your cohort developer said that this wasn't possible?

Sincerely,
Howard

We all make honest mistakes: many times I get things wrong and xillibit or @quila or one of the developers or other moderators helps me. We don't always remember, or know, how all the parts of Kunena fit together and we're happy to help one another. I probably make the most mistakes of any of the team.

One minor correction to your observation: I'm not a developer. I have a little more experience that some other users and, in some areas, I have a little less experience but, in the final analysis, I'm just a user who wants to help others.

I would say an extremely knowledgeable user with a strong desire to help others succeed with Kunena.
