Question How to restrict search to active category?

So far my first days with Kunena has been progressing well. I have managed to make it work as I want to. But I have one problem that I can't get hold of :

I want the search function to search only the forum category from where it is called, instead of searching all categories. As far as I can see, it is possible to set one category to be the only one to be searched, but apparently there are no way to just stay inside the active category.

Can someone tell me how to set this up?

Thanx

Hello,

What do you mean by active categories ?

In search, you have a list of existing categories :

I don't provide support by PM, because this can be useful for someone else.

Suppose i have these two categories : 1. guitars and 2. motorbikes.
Now a user goes into the guitar forum and makes a search for 'Yamaha', because he is looking for info on Yamaha guitars, in fact he doesn't care a bit for Yamaha motorbikes - but in Kunena standard setup he gets both.
I want that if user searches for 'yamaha' in the guitar forum, he only gets results from the guitar forum.

I hope this makes it clear what my intent is.

BTW. I want this to be the standard, not somthing that the user must choose from a dropdown menu (because I think that this is possible)

Interesting concept. Unfortunately this is not possible with Kunena, without modifying the core files, at the moment. The only way that I am aware of restricting the scope of your search to a specific category (or categories) is to use the Advanced Search function.

This feature might be worth pursuing in a future version of Kunena.

:( Too bad. I thought this feature would obvuiosly be included. But it looks as if this is only obvious to mee, since nobody else has asked for it.
I hope that it will be added some day, becuse Kunena it the best discussion board that I have tried for JOOMLA!.
