Link to images was created by Aaron Tily
How do i remove the link to the image through the tag? Whenever there is a image it links to the actual image however this isn't needed for me.

Example:

If there isn't a way then how do i make it open in a new window?

When you use the [img] tag the image is displayed with the message (in K 1.5).

When you use the tag, to refer to the URL of an image, the link will open the URL in a new tab (or window) depending on your browser.

When you use the [img] tag, the image is displayed as a link, too. Clicking the image (in Kunena) opens the image in same window/tab as the message. The reason for this is because sometimes people post images that are too large - too wide - to fit within the Kunena template. When this happens, the image is automatically adjusted to display smaller than the original width. If you remove this feature of Kunena (and you can if you modify the source code) you will make it impossible for your users to post anything wider than, say, 600 pixels. Is that what you want?

To make the [img] links open in a new window, you need to modify the Kunena source code; it's probably ../components/com_kunena/lib/kunena.link.class.php. I'm sorry, I haven't had time to check this for you. Perhaps someone else can.
