What gives? I'm not using JomSocial or Community Builder or any of those.
Is there an answer to this problem yet? It's kind of crucial in a forum to be adding new threads... Don't know where to go with this.....very frustrating.

With an error 500 it's difficult to determinate the source of the issue.
Can you give your php and mysql version?
And joomla and kunena version ?
I don't provide support by PM, because this can be useful for someone else.

Don't you just hate HTTP 500 errors?
A couple of quick questions: Have you been using Kunena for long - I mean, did you upgrade, or is this your first Kunena installation? Did you have the 500 error before you installed Kunena or, perhaps, did you have the error with an earlier version of Kunena if you upgraded?
It may not help - you state that you've read all those articles about 500 errors, so you've probably read my tips ( Help with solving the HTTP 500 Internal server error ) - but can you reproduce the symptoms on your own PC? No doubt, at some stage of this discussion, someone is going to ask you to look at your server logs. Don't look at me ... I don't know anything about those things. And "debug mode", too. That might be something ... or not.
Maybe somewhere in all the waffle I've just written, there might be something helpful to you. I hope so. Good luck.

[Tue Mar 23 21:18:57 2010] [error] [client 64.223.150.49] Premature end of script headers: /home/barberpo/public_html/index.php
The first version I had loaded was the version before this 1.5.10 Kunena. This is where the problem started, so I upgraded today in hopes of fixing the error. The error only occurs when I click on "new thread" so no it wasn't occuring before loading Kunena.
my forum is here:

I've turned off the SEF urls, just in case this was the problem.
