How do I change the links that the icons for each category have? I want the link when you click at the icon to be different from when you click at the topic.

Why do you want to do that? Where do you want the icon links to go to? Shouldn't they refer to the same link as the topic title? This doesn't make any sense to me, sorry, but maybe I've misunderstood you. :S

Lets say that I have a forum where people could discuss cars. I got the categories "Ford, Volvo, Chrysler, Mercedes etc". The topic titles should be linked to the topics. But the logos in front of the categories should be linked to an information page about the company.

I think you are over-complicating matters: I repeat my earlier observations that, to me, your idea is counter-productive. In fact, it's counter-intuitive as to the role of category icons in Kunena: category icons are used, among other things, to indicate that there are new posts within a category.

You could achieve a similar solution without resorting to hacking the product ... and in a much simpler fashion: create a link within each description that takes your users to a specific location if that's what you want to do. That way, you are giving your users a choice and you're still keeping your component unchanged and able to be upgraded when new versions of Kunena are released.

Perhaps someone else has a way of performing the "icon-link" trickery. As far as I'm concerned, I am declining the opportunity to venture into this dangerous area. Sorry. :(

Thank you for the answers! I will keep it as the way it is and instead make a link to the information pages inside the categories.
