Question how to set permission for single categorie

I am building a forum. How can I set for a single categorie in a forum for users not to be able to reply to other people threads?

I checked documents and didnt find it. I know how to disable users to reply to thread in the whole forum, but cant find how to do it for a single category whithin forum...

Let me explain again. I want to enable registered users, only to post a new thread inside a specific forum categorie, but restrict those users to reply to other users threads.

You want anyone - anyone who's a registered user - to be able to create new discussion topics, but not allow anyone else to reply to them? Is that what you're asking?

This seems to be defeating the purpose of having a discussion forum! For example, if I were allowed to post "The world is flat" and no-one else could discuss that proposition, why should I post it in a discussion forum. If you want to allow people to write items that are not for discussion, allow them to create Joomla articles.
