Question Automatically deleting non-active members

I know that kunena has not got its own database, however I was wondering if it is possible to automatically delete any registered member that has never posted. Like many forums we get our fair share of registrations from people who are probably just bored and looking for something to do, rather than actually joining a forum to actively participate. We would like to be able to delete all these users automatically rather than going through thousands upon thousands of listings to find members who have never posted, that will take hours. Is it possible?

Hello,

If you want delete automatically non-active members, this needs something like cronjob. An easy way, should be to do have a button in the backend to do this.

I don't provide support by PM, because this can be useful for someone else.

What is a cron job? Apparently I have got facilities on my site where I can use alpha registration. I have set up to do it but it hasn't deleted any members who have never logged in, so I am obviously doing something incorrectly.

For deleting users which have never logged in, I believe that there must be a few Joomla plugins to do that (and believe me, that group can be large, too)..

To delete inactive users with 0 posts, you need to find the users with a simple SQL query. Just try to find users which haven't logged in for x days and have no posts.. Then delete them.. It should be easy to change existing plugin to work just like this.

 like I said, Alpha Registration seems to have a facility to remove members who have never posted, I just can't get it to work, maybe I'll go on their forum if they got one and ask.

Well, it is 2AM in here.

I think asking the author would be the best solution. :)
