Can someone please point me to info, on how to use a different SQL DB for Kunena, from the main one Joomla is using? I have 3 x 150 MB DBs available.

You need to have huge site and/or over 100 000 messages to get over that limit. And at that point you will need a better (virtual) server anyway..

Joomla does not save files into database, only content.

Yes TY,

But I would like a separate DB for Joomla and Kunena. Surely this must be possible?

Hello,

This is not possible because kunena use the database layer from joomla! like other components into joomla! and Kunena needs some tables from joomla! by example jos_users to work.

It's strange that your hoster propose to you 3 differents databases with 150 Mo each.

I don't provide support by PM, because this can be useful for someone else.
