Question Site & Forum Searching?

Hi there,

I'm trying to track down some kind of an integrated sitesearch that will search a site's article content plus the Kunena content (and other content as may appear on the site.)

I've been looking but it doesn't seem to exist, Kunena has its own search, joomla has its search, jomsocial has a member search, is there one which will search the whole shebang and return a page of integrated results?

Seems like a reasonable thing to look for, maybe I'm just not seeing the right extension yet..

Many thanks for any help and suggestions

Paul

I don't remember of seeing anything like this either. We have plans for integrated search, but nothing in code, yet..

Hi Matias,

Thanks for responding. As with many Joomla users with info-based sites, I'm finding that social components, particularly Kunena, are generating up to date and relevant information that adds to or updates the 'formal' information on the site.

Rather than trawl through thousands of posts to harvest information in order to create new / updated articles it seems an obvious solution to have a search function that looks at the site as a whole; My site users see the site as a single informative entity rather than multiple discrete information storage systems.

Google can find all kinds of content on our sites, I'm sure that someone will come up with a search component or plugin that does similar.

I'll keep searching :)

Thanks again

Paul
