Kunena 7.0.5 & Kunena 6.4.11 – Security Updates Released

The Kunena team has announce the arrival of Kunena 7.0.5 [K 7.0.5] in stable which is now available for download as a native Joomla extension for J! 5.4.x/6.0.x. This version addresses most of the issues that were discovered in K 6.2 / K 6.3 / K 6.4 and issues discovered during the last development stages of K 7.0.

The Kunena team is also pleased to announce the eleventh version of Kunena 6.4, a native Joomla extension for Joomla! 5.0, 5.1, 5.2, 5.3, 5.4 and 6.0.

Hello

As a forum administrator I would like to be able to validate or not validate new users after they apply their registration request before they start writing new posts.

Is there a way to do this in Kunena forum?

I had the same problem. So far, ACL seems to be a problem both in Joomla and in Kunena. The way I solved it was using an ACL plugin called noixacl. This plugin makes it possible to creat new user categories. Then, I created a new category named "Forista" (portuguese for "forum user") and set up Joomla so that new users after registration get the "Registed User" status. After the registration, the admin must change the user to the group "Forista".

From this point, you can either use NoixACL to restric access to the forum on your website or use Kunena config itself to make some forums restricted. The main idea is just that common "Registered Users" group won't have access to the forums, just the "Forista" group. And only the users you select get promoted to the "Forista"group.
