Question Forum Permissions Question

Using Kunena 1.5.5 and Joomla 1.5, I have a forum set up on a church web site. The forum is supposed to be viewable and writeable only by Registered users who have been assigned Author or higher permissions.

The reasoning: When a new user registers, they can automatically gain access to the login portion of the web site without an administrator approval. We do want new registrations, however, we want to monitor who is able to view/write to the forums.

Here are my current settings:

Forum Administration...
Locked
Public Access: Author
Include Child Groups: No
Admin Access: Administrator
Include Child Groups: No

Kunena Configuration: Security...
Registered Users Only: Yes
Public Read/Write: Yes

I have tried several different configurations, but can't seem to get the forum locked for viewing to Registered users that have not been upgraded to Author status.

Any suggestions?
