Question Lock category but allow replies

Hello, is there any way to disallow the creation of new topics but allow replies on existing topics?

And if this is possible to happen will then Kunena Discuss plugin create new topics on locked categories?

Currently there's no way to lock a category but allow posting on existing topics. I have made a hack which does the opposite (allows posting, but not replies).

I believe that Kunena Discuss will create new topics even if the forum is locked.

Kunena Discuss does not create topics on locked categories but even if it would the users could not post on the topics created by Kunena Discuss.

My concept is that I build a video tutorial site on which instead of having comment system and forum system I combine them by using kunena forum and kunena discuss plugin so I have everything on one place. My problem is that on the categories that kunena discuss generates the topics I don't want users to create another topics because I have a separated category for this but I want them to reply on existing topics.

Unfortunately this is currently not possible without modifying the templates or code. I have some plans to add these features, but no dates for it, as we are currently in the middle of major rewrite.
