Question topics are gone when moved to categories

hey,

i got a problem with moving topics. By mistake i moved a topic not to another forum but into a category. After that i cant find the topic in the overview of categories where just the forums are.

Right now i can find single (or latest) articles with the searchfunction but i am not able to find the whole topic itself, not as admin logged to the forum or even trough joomla kunena administration.

I tried it another time with an empty topic and the disapearing is repeatable.

Do someone have an answer how to access the topics which i moved to categories?

If you know how to use phpmyadmin, you re-affect your messages in this moved thread into the right category and not into a section.

From K 1.5.12 and onwards we prefer to refer to sections instead of the old term "categories" and to use the term categories instead of "forums" This is explained in more detail in Sections, Categories and sub-Categories (Part 1) in the Wiki.

As I understand, it should not be possible to move a topic or topics into a section in K 1.5.12; this was one of the many important changes made in that version. What version of Kunena are you using? If you are using an older version of Kunena then you will have to manually change in the database the parent-id of the topic from a section to a category. After you've fixed that problem you should upgrade Kunena.

first, thank you for your answers and comments! even when i am not shure about everything you wrote, i will try to find out and then maybe ask again.

I use kunena 1.5.11 - so yes when i solved the problem, i will update.
I will give a sign again when the problem is solved.
