Depending on how you want to use CAPTCHA, there's one that already exists in K 1.5.

Do you want your logged-in, registered users to have to enter a CAPTCHA key to post messages? Or, do you require CAPTCHA to screen messages posted by non-registered users (the general public)? If the answer to the second question is yes, then I think you will find the functionality built into K 1.5 is adequate for your purposes. If the answer to the first question is yes then I don't know of a CAPTCHA solution that will work.

However, if you already require your users to login to be able to use your forum and then you further insist that they enter a CAPTCHA sequence to post messages, I think you this added workload will turn off your users and drive down forum activity. If this is the scenario that you're considering for CAPTCHA then I think it's probably security overkill and YAGNI . ;)
