Kunena 7.0.6 & Kunena 6.4.12 – Security Updates Released
The Kunena team has announce the arrival of Kunena 7.0.6 [K 7.0.6] in stable which is now available for download as a native Joomla extension for J! 5.4.x/6.0.x. This version addresses most of the issues that were discovered in K 6.2 / K 6.3 / K 6.4 and issues discovered during the last development stages of K 7.0.
The Kunena team is also pleased to announce the twelfth version of Kunena 6.4, a native Joomla extension for Joomla! 5.0, 5.1, 5.2, 5.3, 5.4 and 6.0.
Question [Merged topic] Kunena's multi-language features - How do they work in practice?
After asking one question this morning, I thought I'd try my luck and ask another. (Pushing my luck, I know!)
The question concerns multiple languages. Does Kunena have any multi-language extensions or add-ons?
Our users will be pan-European and multi-lingual, so a multi-language site is uber-important.
Thank you.
Pete.

Kunena support different languages. You can "shop" around for different languages by browsing through the topics in the Translations category or by visiting any of the several language-specific categories in this forum.
Further information about different languages is given in our companion Wiki documentation site .

I've just been to the Wiki and it some of my Qs, but I have follow up questions to put to Kunena users, so I'll post those to 'Common Questions' instead.
Thanks very much.

I summon your help, if that's all right. I'm very nearly sold on the idea of Kunena as our Joomla! forum platform, but this being the first multi-language implementation we've attempted, I have a few questions from experienced users.
If you've used Kunena in a multi-language capacity, your input on the following Qs would be much appreciated:
Front-End
(Switching site content)
1. Is the content in threads translated? How well?
2. What happens to HTML elements i.e. button labels on the forum itself?
3. Imagine you're in a fiesta sort of mood and are working in Spanish one day. But you need to enter an article in English. Do you switch Kunena to English first (before creating the thread), then post your thread, or can you keep the Kunena in Spanish and just type your article in English, check a field to identify it as an English article, then 'post'?
4. Which is best, to separate topic areas based on language,
Option 1
English
> Using the site (5 threads)
> Becoming a member (2 threads)
Español
> Usar el sito (5 threads)
> Estar un member (2 threads) (what's 'member' in Spanish?)
OR to have different languages all mingling in the same threads?
Option 2
Using the site (5 threads) (2 written in English, 3 written in Spanish)
Becoming a member (2 threads) (1 written in Spanish, 1 written in English)
5. Final question - assuming you go for Option 2. Imagine your Kunena settings are set to English (by default) and you're reading a thread written in Spanish, say you switch Kunena to French, does the thread you were reading get translated to French? (What exactly happens?)
Thank you in advance.
Pete.

1°) Kunena doesn't translate the content in topics but only language strings in kunena.
2°) This kind of things is translated when you switch the language.
3°)Like for 1°) you don't need to take care of this because kunena doesn't translate the content of message.
4°) 5°) Maybe look the joomfish component
