Question Reset users imported from CB

Hi, I have just installed the latest version of Kunena and it has picked up that we had an installation installed 7 years ago.  It has imported all of the users from that time and I now have twice as many users as I should have.  Is there any way of resetting the users so that it only picks up our "Registered" users group as opposed to all our past members as well?

Regards,  Chris.

Go to Kunena -> Tools in the backend and synchronise the users. If this does not help, check whether these users exist in Joomla.
Kunena does not have its own user administration. It only takes over the existing Joomla users, which are then automatically also Kunena users.

OK, but does it import all users or can you select to have only certain groups imported into Kunena? We have lots of past members who are still registered in Joomla as "Past Members" and only want the "Registered" group to be able to see what is going on in the forum

Whether registered as former members or new users makes no difference. Registered is registered. If you make the forum available only to registered users, all registered members will see it. As long as members remain registered, they are not former members.
You have two options:
Go to the Joomla Usermanager and sort the users by registration date. Then you can decide until which registration date you want to remove the users.
Or you can create a separate Joomla user group for the newer members and only grant these members access to the forum categories. docs.kunena.org/en/faq/categories-only-for-certain-user-groups
