Question Non-english letters shown wrong

Hi,

I'm making a danish translation.

Changes made to kunena.danish.php are shown in Kunena. So far so good.

However. Danish language has three non-english letters. Translated words containing these letters are shown wrong.

At first these letters showed up as small boxes inside the words. I then saved kunena.danish.php as UTF-8, and now these letters are just missing in the words.

BTW. The domain name is using one of the three special danish letters too.

Joomla itself and other modules are working flawlessly in danish.

Any tips and tricks to make Kunena work in danish too?

System info:
Database version: 5.0.32-Debian_7etch10-log
Database collation: utf8_general_ci
PHP version: 5.2.9-0.dotdeb.1

Best regards

It seems, that the letters disappeared, when saving as UTF-8.

When I add the letters now, they are shown correct.

Problem solved.

I have the same problem with Kunena 1.5.6.

But i cannot say it's solved, because i migrated from 1.0.8.

The migration works, but all imported Forum data shows now the german "umlauts" ä, ü and ö as a strange character like Müllermäx

My Joomla Version is 1.5.14

When entering a new forum thread the "umlauts" displayed correctly.

I also tried an export / import of all data with no success.

Who can help ?

Please use migration forum for this kind of questions.

There are many threads where you can find answer to your migration problem.
