Question Translating Help article

I use the forum help menu item. It works fine in English.
I have created a second, similar article containing the same text translated into French. But in the Kunena config it is only possible to connect Help to a single item-ID. So how do I get a French language Help article to appear?
I have read every post I can find that might help, but they all seem to be about changing / hiding / translating the Help menu , which is not my problem. That I can / have done already.
At present the only solution appears to be to create a new custom menu item in the Kunena menu, linked to a single Joomla article.
That kind-of works, but it takes the reader out of the Forum area into main-Joomla, which is not ideal.
Is there a better solution that I'm missing? Is it something that is only a problem for me in K1.7, and I will find a better solution when I can upgrade to K2 (not yet been able to make that happen).

The Help menu item is done quite differently in K 2.0. I suggest that you download a copy of K 2.0.1, install it on a test site, and see how it's changed. In K 2.0 there is no link (in the configuration settings) to a Joomla article and, therefore, that gets rid of one problem.
As far as having multi-language information is concerned, that's not my department. I can only read/write in one language at a time.

No time to test K2 unfortunately - too busy doing the same thank-less task on our site that you do so well here.
However, I'm sure soon we'll crack the reason we can't get Kunena upgrade to work, then we'll be into K2 just as fast as we can
I don't suppose anyone has an SQL that will convert a K1.7 set of tables to K2.0.1 ? That's really all we need. We can get a clean install of 2.0.1 to work perfectly. Its just the upgrade that won't run. Clearly something wrong in our server config, or perhaps the DB, but its proving very elusive. I certainly see no reason at this stage to think its a Kunena problem though. Definitely unique to us.

Ahhhh, that's what I hoped to hear. Thanks.sozzled wrote: In K 2.0 there is no link (in the configuration settings) to a Joomla article and, therefore, that gets rid of one problem.
