Joomla 1.5.5
Kunena 1.5.0a

Kunena installed just fine and configuration was easy. However, I can't for the life of me get the My Discussions board to display correctly. It is like the CSS file is not showing up on that page to make it look nice. Instead, it's a white background with black text and an error code at the bottom reading...
Fatal error: Call to a member function stderr() on a non-object in /mnt/w0505/d04/s34/b02cfb71/www/hideawaycyber.com/components/com_kunena/lib/kunena.debug.php on line 56
I am also attaching a screen shot of what I see to help solve this problem.
All help is welcome.

The "problem" has to do with Kunena 1.5.0a - there is no support for V 1.5.0a. The version was released to allow expert users of Kunena) to experiment with a new, untried product prior to a general, supported release. Kunena 1.5.0a - as has been mentioned many times on this site - is an alpha test version. If you don't know anything about Kunena, don't use it and don't ask for help if you have problems with it.
Use Kunena 1.0.9. (see also Never again publicly release alpha test version )

Yes that makes sense...
However I believe 1.5.0a should be pulled from public eyes till these problems are fixed. I know what alpha means however if alpha is released to the public either the people who release the alpha version needed testing feedback and bugs o be reported for further improvement or the developers weren't thinking correctly.
Either way I appreciate the response and I guess I am forced to use legacy mode until 1.5 STABLE version comes out.

News FLASH!
I uninstalled 1.5.0a and installed 1.0.9 with legacy mode and I still get the same problem. The My Discussions board still looks ugly and white just as with 1.5.0a. Only this time I get a different type of code...
Fatal error: Call to a member function setQuery() on a non-object in /mnt/w0505/d04/s34/b02cfb71/www/hideawaycyber.com/components/com_kunena/lib/kunena.version.php on line 86
So recap...
Uninstalled Alpha version
Installed Stable "Mature" version
Result?
I get the same problem.
So either 1.0.9 does not like legacy mode or there is a problem in the code. Please verify this. Thank you

I'm sorry to say "I told you so" but you there is no support for Kunena 1.5.0a. This includes official advice on how to install or uninstall Kunena 1.5.0a. Kunena 1.5.0a may or may not work - I don't know, I'm not an expert. I do know, however, that if you install an alpha test version then all responsibility for what happens after that is yours. This also means that if the installation of the alpha test version makes it difficult or impossible to revert back or to install another, earlier version, then you have a problem.
There is sufficient anecdotal evidence at www.kunena.com to substatiate that position that people who have installed Kunena 1.5.0a have subsequently had problems with Kunena 1.0.9 afterwards.
If you search through the forums at www.kunena.com you might find some information about how to "downgrade" or successfully uninstall Kunena 1.5.0a in order to allow you to successfully install Kunena 1.0.9.
As I wrote in Never again publicly release alpha test version , it's unfortunate when people get into trouble with an untried, unproven product that is likely to contain defects despite the best intentions in the world of the developers to eliminate them. Nonetheless, if you don't have any experience with a product, if you've never used the product before, then stay clear of alpha test versions because you might get yourself into difficulties that no-one else can help you out of.

So your saying that the developers have released a component of joomla to the public that may or may not install/uninstall correctly, which means that it could also corrupt a joomla website since it cannot be uninstalled correctly and that installing a stable version of 1.5 may never actually fix the problem that 1.5.0a had because 1.5.0a cannot uninstall correctly? And because I have installed an alpha version on my joomla that if I downgrade or install a stable version of 1.5 that I will never have support because of an Alpha version that was released to the public? That is a little harsh don't you think?
If I released an alpha version of a software, which I know better not to do, at least would take responsibility for it's actions and try to resolve the problem then saying "People are dumb" and we're not going to support dumb people, because that is basically what your saying.
You can count on me NOT to support this component and that I will make sure others know of my experience. You guys put this on yourselves.
