Question Joomlaboard to Kunena via Fireboard - attached images missing!

Hi all!

I have been running a Joomlaboard forum for a couple of years with hundreds of images attached to various posts.

I've finally decided to upgrade to Kunena and I'm doing so by first upgrading to Fireboard.

I have updated the Fireboard installation with my Joomlaboard data but none of the attached images seem to migrate in the process, and because of this they don't show up in the posts in the new Fireboard forum where they should be.


Is there any way of solving this? Any help would be extremely appreciated.

I don't know anything about Joomlaboard; I don't know where Joomlaboard stores attached images. I am guessing that Fireboard stores images attached to messages in the same folder as Kunena does: ../media/kunena/attachments/legacy. As a possible suggestion - an educated guess on my part, I have to admit - if you know where Joomlaboard stored the attached images, perhaps you could move them to the ../media/kunena/attachments/legacy folder and see if they are "reattached" to your converted forum.

Yes, it could be a solution,to upload images manually into /media/kunena/attachments/legacy/images
to upload files from joomlaboard into /media/kunena/attachments/legacy/files and avatars into /media/kunena/attachments/legacy/avatars. The folders directory of fireboard is the same as in Kunena.

In joomlaboard (if you can still access to it) right mouseclick on image and see the path, where your image is stored.

I don't know, if this is the default chown setting in fireboard , I just looked per ftp on server to an old fireboard installation and have seen, that the folders have 777 (i did not set this), in kunena they need 755. Perhaps you should set the folder permissions in fireboard installation to 777 and images to 644.

When upgrading FireBoard does nothing to the JoomlaBoard install. It runs right alongside it. In the dozens of such JB to FB upgrades I have done and helped facilitate I cannot recall anyone having such a problem (not saying that it didn\'t happen). How old is your JoomlaBoard version? Are all the images now missing? Are the images remotely linked? On the old BoJ forums there used to be a file/hack that got put into a JB directory to redirect to FB but that was pretty old. Almost a year ago. Right when 1.0.4 was about to be released. Hopefully it\'s just a matter of moving the directory where FB thinks it is supposed to be like Lintzy suggested above.

Did FB 1.0.5 have the capability to upgrade JoomlaBoard?

Files in JoomlaBoard will be moved automatically by the migration script, but if you have ftp mode enabled in Joomla! 1.5, you need to create / chmod 777 (read, write, execute permission to all) these first (there's a bug in the migration script):

images/fbfiles
images/fbfiles/avatars

Just a note:

When you are upgrading from JoomlaBoard to Fireboard, you should not uninstall JoomlaBoard before you have moved all custom files (images, attachments, avatars etc) into a safe place. This is because of when you uninstall it, you will loose all of those as they are located in components/com_joomlaboard/uploaded and components/com_joomlaboard/avatars directories. First one should go into images/fbfiles and the second into images/fbfiles/avatars ...

BTW: Kunena has also migration possibility from JoomlaBoard, but it seems to be slightly broken. I can try to fix it if someone gives me a database dump from sb_* tables.
