Solved Avatars no longer working properly

My users (aand myself) are no longer able to upload our own avatars. It worked previously, I'm not sure how long it's been fubar. A user just notified me today.

I've searched and searched forums and google, but haven't been able to find a solution that worked. Can anyone point me in the right direction? I know this has happened to plenty of users, I just haven't been able to find a solution that works for me.

Are you using a third party template for your forum? Go to the "Components -> Kunena Forum -> Templates" and switch back to the default Aurelia template and try uploading your avatar again to see if the error still occurs?

In the past, I'd used your Kay or KTrend themes, but have gone back to the default theme as the 3rd party ones were clashing with something.

I took the step of backing everything up and then doing RESTORE DEFAULTS, but that didn't get me anywhere. In fact, after tinkering, things have gotten worse. Before, if you tried to drag and drop an image for your avatar, it would just open in a new tab. If you used the actual button to add one, it would open the dialog and let you select one, but nothing would change. Now, if I go to EDIT FORUM PROFILE>AVATAR IMAGE, everything below that menu disappears.

I set the sytem error reporting to maximum and this error shows:
