Kunena 7.0.5 & Kunena 6.4.11 – Security Updates Released

The Kunena team has announce the arrival of Kunena 7.0.5 [K 7.0.5] in stable which is now available for download as a native Joomla extension for J! 5.4.x/6.0.x. This version addresses most of the issues that were discovered in K 6.2 / K 6.3 / K 6.4 and issues discovered during the last development stages of K 7.0.

The Kunena team is also pleased to announce the eleventh version of Kunena 6.4, a native Joomla extension for Joomla! 5.0, 5.1, 5.2, 5.3, 5.4 and 6.0.

During an update from 3.0.4 to 3.0.7 the installation script stops with the following message
Kunena Installation Failed!
Installation Details
Preparing installation...

All subsequent attempts to load the kunena component in the backend, end with the same error.
The kunena frontend has been automatically set offline during the update, therefore our forum is offline until this problem will be solved.

The message shown doesn't help much. Failed... why? What exactly? What should I do?
Should I pray or what else?

I'm having this exact same error. Please see the attached screenshot.



No real information is given. I have tried clearing the cache and trying again, but no success.

Everything appears to have installed, the component is there. Upon going to the DASHBOARD option of the component, it appears to try to install again but fails with the same error.

Any ideas?

try to disable all none joomla/kunena plugins, and install it again.

I think there is a broken plugin.

I'm running into the same/similar situation and have tried the various tips on this forum, including disabling plugins. I can't even re-install the previous version of Kunena.

The site in question is running Joomla 2.5.28, along with the recommended flavours of PHP,etc.

I'm at a loss as to what to do.

try to check error log,

But it must be a plugin conflict. Or try clean cache before installing
