If you are having problems then, for your own benefit, it would save us all a lot of time if you would kindly post your configuration report when you ask for help from this forum. If you do not post your configuration report we will not ask you for it but you will probably not get your problem solved, either.

Search alternative? was created by aG3b72e
I originally came to kunena from phpbb3, ever since the search has been a problem and getting worse because I dont want to waste dns queries allowing bots to overrun the website. Queries cost money and it would be far more advantageous to have a working search component on site instead of using google...

After waiting patiently for years I am starting to get very frustrated with my decision to migrate to kunena, partially because of the search problems partially because there doesnt seem to be an easy migration out of kunena as there was coming in...

Can anyone suggest an alternative to the kunena search tab function?
Or provide instructions as to how to improve the kunena search results?

currently it does not show anything past a few weeks and considering the website has six years plus of user created content, the search tab seems useless

same principle applies to list of user posts in the user profile page

please help, losing hope & no funds to improve dns services

Greetings, Thanks in advance for the response.

When I use the kunena search tab to search for the specific phrase "Poisonous People" it produces no results.

but this phrase can clearly be found on a post made shortly after transferring from phpbb3 (5 years 3 months ago) concerning the progress of open source projects;

Well, this is a bit embarrassing.

Re-reading this topic and checking to make sure links work, I noticed the search options are defaulting to search only posts upto a year ago. Perhaps this is the source of my error...

How can I change the default timeframe for searches from 'A year ago' to 'Any date'?

Also is there a way to show all of a users posts on their profile as opposed to only showing most recent?

I think the default search field input is what the original tech support ticket was about.

I did not realize it presets that value, looking at changing it.
