I'm having an issue with editing announcements from the announcement list. If I go to the announcement list, and try to use the "Choose Action" dropdown, there is no Edit option. So if I click the green checkmark to edit an announcement, the "Choose Action" dropdown changes to a blank selection, and loads a page telling me I don't have permission. If I open the announcement directly, and then click edit from there, I can edit as expected. I've tried creating a new user and making him admin, same result. I also tried changing to the default Kunena template. Again, same problem.

I've tried searching, but found no information. Is this a known issue? Anyone know the cause or have a solution? Thanks to whoever can assist.

G'day, zhono, and welcome to the community,

If you are having problems using K 3.0.2 with a third-party Kunena template, please discuss your problem with the developer of that template. The Kunena team does not have any knowledge of the Kunena template that you are using.

You might consider the following suggestions to diagnose the source of this problem you are having:

1) Use the Blue Eagle template designed for K 3.0.2;

2) Disable (or uninstall completely) sh404SEF

3) Uninstall the plugins: JomSocial - My Kunena Forum Menu 2.0.3, JomSocial - My Kunena Forum Posts 2.0.3 and JomSocial - Kunena Groups 2.0.3. These do not work with K 3.0.2.

4) You may want to consider using the standard Kunena menu - see Kunena Menu issues

I hope this helps

Hi sozzled. Your suggestions 1 & 2 I had already tried. #3 The plugins seems to work fine, but I disabled and removed them anyway for now. As for number 4, I was reluctant to try messing with the menu, as I'm new to Kunena, and my template's author created many custom menus and whatnot for Kunena and Jomsocial, and I still don't know exactly how everything works. There are some nice mobile menus that I don't want to break.

So instead I decided to run a quick test, out of curiosity. I used a spare domain to setup a fresh, default install of Joomla 3.1.5, no added components or plugins, default template, etc. I made no changes after installation, instead I immediately installed the latest Kunena. Again, no changes or addons, and default forum template. I created an announcement as one would expect it to work, and when trying to edit from the announcement list, the same error occurs. So I am 100% sure it's not due to any of the custom templates or extensions I use on my main site. Any idea what is happening here? Is there some vital step to setting up the forum that I seem to be missing? Quite possible, since as I said, I'm pretty new to Kunena. Or possibly a bug in the current version?

Can you provide your unedited configuration report for the [new] test site that you created in which there is this problem, please?
