Hi,
I am running a Joomla 1.5.23 site with CB 1.4, DT Register 2.7.5d and Kunena 1.6.4 and some other components.
When registering for an event with DT Register I should get a thank you message, but this is not happening, instead I get a Kunena error message:
Fatal error: Cannot redeclare class TagParser in /var/www/site/wwwroot/components/com_kunena/lib/kunena.parser.base.php on line 71

The link to this page after registration is:
http://www.../index.php?option=com_dtregister&controller=message&Itemid=&task=freethanks

Could anyone help me explain why Kunena is conflicting here ?

Thank you

Hello,

There is a conflict because, DT register uses the same class name "TagParser"

I don't provide support by PM, because this can be useful for someone else.

Hi,
Thank you for your prompt reply. Surely I am not the only one running DT Register and Kunena, both concidered to be the best in their class.
Is there a way to get this fixed or do I need to drop one of the two compocnents ?
Thank you!

Yes, you need to remove one of the two components because you can't renamme the class into the component else it will broken

Thank you and I'm sure that the authors of DT Register likewise appreciate these favourable comments, too. :) However, sometimes there are no easy ways for two independently-developed pieces of software to co-operate on the same site and you may need to consider other alternatives. One possibility is to explain the situation to the DT Register developers and see if there is some scope within their extension to address your problem. Another way is for you to create two websites, one for event registration and the other for discussions; this is not an ideal situation for people to be in but it's something for you to consider. The third option is to use a different forum component ... and that's what it looks like has been done in this case.

i run both these components but was not aware of any issues?

hopefully one of the devs (DT or Kunena) can amend the class so they dont conflict.

still wish that i can write my forum signature through a jomsocial plugin and do it from my jomsocial profile :(
