Kunena 6.4.7 Released

The Kunena team has announce the arrival of Kunena 6.4.7[K 6.4.7] in stable which is now available for download as a native Joomla extension for J! 5.0.x/5.1.x/5.2.x/5.3.x/5.4.x. This version addresses most of the issues that were discovered in K 6.2 / K 6.3 / K 6.4 and issues discovered during the last development stages of K 6.4
Important note: Go to the Kunena Dashboard after an upgrade so that the Kunena database tables are also updated. This is particularly necessary for major version jumps so that the table changes are adapted.

Please, DON'T INSTALL KUNENA 1.5.0a IN PRODUCTION SITES, K1.5.0a is an alpha release for testing purposes.

That is what I am doing. I am installing it on a testing site to try out Kunena. But as it stands I am not able to install the alpha release because I keep getting the same message, and I have tried to do it on five different servers, five different computers, five different joomla installations, and all with the same result...

The attitude in this forum is that no support for Kunena 1.5.0 alpha is given at all. The announcement state that no support is given for the production use of it. So if this is for testing purpose, and don't come back here tomorrow wailing about your site is broken and nobody warn you! In one of your five server have you tried a clean install? Have you tried to upgrade to Kunena 1.0.9? And which version are you upgrading from? FireBoard?

Ok, I just thought that this was a forum where members and users could share their experiences and in that way maybe help each other develop this component. I thought that the issues I had with installing could be helpful in discovering existing bugs.

I have always enjoyed using Fireboard for many years but the attitude in the responses I have got in this solitaire topic I have created related to me testing Kunena has put me off coming back here again.

I'm sorry that you're finding problems with our alpha release, but as grumblemark stated is not to use on live sites, we have a stable version for that 1.0.9, we can't allow ourselves to give support for problems arising of using a test release on a non test enviroment, we need test feedback, bug reporrts, but we can't spend the manpower to give instant, personal solution to these.

That said, it seems to me that install is done well, that message is completely normal, does it gets a green install complete at the end?
Could you pleas download 1.0.9 version and see if your ploblem in backend persists? that would help us know where the problem is.

Please, remember to uninstall 1.5.0a prior to installing 1.0.9, any post you've done will remain. If you're installing in a test site, I would recommend please to dump kunena tables on your DB and do a fresh install...

Check if problem is also there, and move to 1.5.0a after to continue testing.

Your feedback, as any given, is mmost welcomed.

Thanks!
