Kunena 6.4.13 Released
The Kunena team has announce the arrival of Kunena 6.4.13 [6.4.13] in stable which is now available for download as a native Joomla extension for J! 5.4.x/6.0.x./6.1.x. This version addresses most of the issues that were discovered in K 6.2 / K 6.3 / K 6.4 and issues discovered during the last development stages of K 6.0
Hint: This version is primarily intended to facilitate an upgrade if Joomla was first updated to version 6.1 before Kunena was up to dated.
Use this category:

Use a different category to ask questions about problems that you may be having after you successfully installed or upgraded the currently supported version. If you are unsure what is the current supported version of Kunena, please go to the download page.
Solved Update from Kunena 6.3.8 to K6.3.10 fails
According to the configuration report, Kunena 6.3.8 is installed. It is likely that the update will not be allowed because your database does not meet the minimum requirements ( see here ).
Hello,
I checked all the parameters listed on the page at the link you provided.
The site database mysqlnd 8.2.28-bookworm.0 meets the requirements.
mariaDB is missing, as it is not used at all in my tables.
Is mariaDB needed for Kunena to function? There is no mariaDB on the parallel site where version 6.3.10 was installed either.
Just in case, I checked all the other requirements. I did not find only safe_mode and Optional Modules (xcache, xdebug) among the parameters. The rest (listed below) meet the requirements:
Webserver Apache 2.0 Handler
php 8.2
mysqlnd 8.2.28-bookworm.0
mariaDB - NO!
Joomla! 5.3
max_execution_time 120
memory_limit 256M
upload_max_filesize 32M
GD Verfügbar
ileinfo support enabled
dom DOM/XML ... enabled
mbstring
Multibyte Support enabled
Multibyte string engine libmbfl
HTTP input encoding translation disabled
libmbfl version 1.3.2
json support enabled
OpenSSL support enabled
Apache Requirements YES
mod_cache
mod_expires
mod_headers
mod_rewrite
cURL support enabled
I would be very grateful if you could specify more precisely what is missing for upgrading to version 6.3.10.
Thanks

Thank you for your question. What message are you getting when trying to update Kunena?
Update required on the page Erweiterungen: Aktualisieren:
Kunena Forum update.kunena.org/6.3/pkg_kunena.xml Site Package 6.3.9 6.3.10
After clicking Update, a message appears:
Ungültiges Erweiterungsupdate (Invalid extension update?)
Maybe the issue is that the page Erweiterungen: Aktualisieren shows that I have 6.3.9 installed, but the Kunena dashboard shows 6.3.8 (2024-12-29) ?

This information does not match the configuration report. The configuration report show:mariaDB - NO!
max_execution_time 120
upload_max_filesize 32M
MariaDB/MySQL version: (Version number)
Max execution time: 30
Max file upload: (shows no value)
Your configuration report
Have you already tried to install Kunena manually?

I'm sorry, I may have messed up something, but I've just looked at the report again. There is:This information does not match the configuration report. The configuration report show:
MariaDB/MySQL version: (Version number)
Max execution time: 30
Max file upload: (shows no value)
Max execution time:[/u] 120 seconds | Max execution memory: 256M | Max file upload:.
The Kunena requirements that you linked to specify upload_max_filesize, which is why I looked at this value in PHP.info. I admit, I didn't even notice that Max file upload and upload_max_filesize are different things (different?).
MariaDB/MySQL version: 8.0.36-28 - The report says so, but in PHP.info MariaDB is not mentioned.
After your question, I tried to install Kunena manually.Have you already tried to install Kunena manually?
The installation from the web catalog gave the following message:
Die Manifest-Datei konnte nicht gefunden werden.
I did not dare to install from the downloaded file.
The currently available for download version is pkg_kunena_v6.4.2_2025-04-22, and we were talking about 6.3.10.
In my situation, is it possible to simply install 6.4.2 from a file on top of an existing one?
Thanks

You should update to Kunena 6.4 soon anyway, as the K6.3 series is no longer being developed. Please do not forget to go to the dashboard after the Kunena installation.
