Kunena 7.0.9 & Kunena 6.4.14 – Security Updates Released

The Kunena team has announce the arrival of Kunena 7.0.9 [K 7.0.9] in stable which is now available for download as a native Joomla extension for J! 5.4.x/6.0.x./6.1.x. This version addresses most of the issues that were discovered in K 6.2 / K 6.3 / K 6.4 and issues discovered during the last development stages of K 7.0

Topics must relate to a currently supported version of Kunena. If you are unsure what is the current supported version of Kunena, please go to the download page.

If you are having problems then, for your own benefit, it would save us all a lot of time if you would kindly post your configuration report when you ask for help from this forum. If you do not post your configuration report we will not ask you for it but you will probably not get your problem solved, either.

When I try to install version 7.1.0-BETA4_2026-09-26 on a local test server running Joomla 6.1.3 and Kunena 7.0.9, I get the following message:

Makes sense in my opinion. You should always use latest Joomla release and 6.1.4 was released last tuesday.
Only change that could be made is to remove confusing message:

but it is highly recommended to use Joomla! 6.1.0 or later.

According to Joomla.org, published on Tuesday, 29 September 2026 at 15:20
 and on Wednesday, 30 September 2026 at 11:10, I got the error message!
 That’s not even 24 hours!
 I think this has been greatly exaggerated.

I forgot to update a piece, but the message should be "but it highly recommended to use Joomla! 6.2.0 or later"

When the stable release of K7.1 will be released there will be Joomla! 6.2.0 released as stable

Does anyone know when Joomla 2.0 is coming out?
 Couldn’t we release Joomla 6.1.3 again in the meantime?

Joomla! 6.2.0 stable is expected for the 13th october, K7.1 supports from Joomla! 5.4.9 to 6.2
