Solved Pending posts are grayed out

Hi Kunena guys,

The problem is that our moderators can not see any of the new messages so that they can accept and so on. I added screen shots for you to see better.

Plus both Admins and Moderators do not have the ()pending messages text under the category except for one category shown below:



Any ideas on how to fix this? All started happening about 3 days ago. One moderator did see the messages and then when she went back to check on them, they were gone.

Thanks, Diana. I have to admit that I'm learning a lot from the questions that people ask about features of Kunena I have never personally used or tested. What happens when people use the category setting "Review Posts = Yes" is one of those things.

I suspect that "pending" messages may be treated a bit like "deleted" messages. If my educated guess is right, this would mean that the following configuration setting comes into play:

Forum configuration » Security » Security Settings » Show Deleted Messages = Nobody | Administrators only | Administrators and Moderators

The default value of this setting is the one in red above.

I could be wrong but try changing the setting to allow Moderators as well as Administrators to be able to see "deleted" messages; let me know if that worked.

Controlling whether messages need to be approved before they appear on the forum is done on a category-by-category basis.

Maybe the pending messages had been approved by another moderator or site administrator? :dry:

You should also bear in mind that there are differences between what global moderators can do and what category moderators can do.

I don't think anything is seriously broken in K 2.0.1 and, for that reason, this seems more a case of "how to" than bug-fixing to me. But, as I wrote at the beginning, I'm discovering things about K 2.0, too.
