I had just updated Kunena from 1.4 to 1.7.1. The update showed no errors.

If I try to enter the Kunena-User-Administration in the backend I get the following 500 Internal Server Error message:

Fatal error: Allowed memory size of 16777216 bytes exhausted (tried to allocate 66 bytes) in .../joomla/libraries/joomla/language/language.php on line 353

Warning: Cannot modify header information - headers already sent by (output started at .../joomla/libraries/joomla/language/language.php:353) in .../joomla/administrator/components/com_kunena/libraries/error.php on line 140

I am using Kunena 1.7.1, Joomla 1.5.25 an CB 1.7.1. Everything else is running fine. The integration was / is running too.

Please read the posting guide printed at the top of this page. We can answer questions a lot more quickly when give us the information requested in that guide.

Most HTTP 500 Internal Server Errors are not caused by Kunena. Most of these are cause by some other Joomla extension you are using. Your config report may help us to learn more about what other extensions you're using. The way to analyse these internal server errors is to enable Joomla debug mode and find out if Joomla shows more information about those errors. It may also help to enabled Kunena debug mode, too.

There was no K 1.4.1. Perhaps you've confused Kunena with another Joomla extension. gain, your configuration report may help.

The fact that you have out-of-memory errors indicates that the combination of another extension on the same pages where you're using Kunena is the cause. Try to isolate Kunena from other Joomla extensions (by disabling or uninstalling those other things). You may need to increase the PHP memory allocation on your Joomla website (if your webhost allows you to do that).

I have deinstalled all unnecessary components and modules. What remains is CB, Kunena, Joomgallery, Jevents, Security Images. I have disabled all SI-Services. Still the same. I have other Websites on the same Webspace. Kunena and Useradmin is running without any problems, so I guess there should not be a memory allocation problem.

What makes me stir, is that the problem is in the backend, where the only "connected" component is CB.

When I disable the integration to CB, everything works. In my opinion there seems to be a problem on the integration with CB. Maybe not a general problem, because CB 1.7.1 an Kun 1.7.1. run fine together on another installation on the same webspace.

Thanks for the config. report but, as you will see, we can't read it unless it's posted on the forum.

As I wrote earlier, I think you've confused Kunena with another extension, like Community Builder and, perhaps, the problems you are having are caused by an incompatible Joomla 1.0 extension that is conflicting with Community Builder?

Please read what we've written before about using legacy mode . Basically, you should not have the System - Legacy plugin enabled.

The Kunena template that you're using was designed for an older version of Kunena and it probably does not work. Please contact the author of that template to find out if that template works with K 1.7.1.

16 Mb PHP memory is not enough to run Community Builder on its own, let alone run Kunena. I suggest you increase PHP memory to 32 Mb. See K 1.6 & K 1.7 Technical Requirements

Yeah, you are right. The Version-Number must have then been another one, I am not sure about which one. It may have been 1.6.3 or 1.6.5.

I have disabled the legacy plugin now. I only used it for one module (mod_whosonline_ext). Still its not running.

The user-administration is at the moment only needed for the assignment of the moderator, so as a workaround I switched off the CB-Integration, then configured and turned the integration back on again.

The Author of the Kunena-Template states on his HP, that the Aphotic-Template ist compatible with 1.7. I also switched back to the normal template, still the problem is there.

I already have contacted my provider concerning the memory-allocation. As soon as I know more, I'll post here.

Until then thanks for the support ! :-)
