Question What will be in 1.1 and other versions. Roadmap? ACL specific.

I have searched and can not find the answer so I apologize in advance if this has been asked. What are the "features" being developed for future versions. I have seen in another post better ACL would be in 1.1 and this is my #1 issue preventing me from using Kunena. Also Joomla 1.6 will have this integrated so I am curious if this has been talked about already and if Kunena will wait for 1.6 and intergrate into the core ACL system. Thanks in advance.

This is a small overview of our aims for each release of Kunena, please notice this IS NOT A COMPLETE LIST OF FEATURES, neither official (just something I did to give some light), just what are our bigger prioritiesfor each version, non listed improvements and features will come between versions.

Kunena 1.0.8 - Bugfixing of heredated Fireboard bugs

• jomsocial integration
• community builder integration
• Massive bugfixing

Kunena 1.1 - Optimization, usability, performance and SEO

• New API for 3rd party plugins & extensions
• New template system
• Massive optimization of performance
• Rewrite of moderator tools
• Remake of the template system to make it simple and flexible
• Improved search
• More usable, both for users and admins, changes in smiley administration, creation of posts, layout,...
• Karma rebuild

Kunena 1.5 - Joomla 1.5 native!

• Turn j!1.5 native
• Create Data Access Class Layer
• Enable Upload of multiple images and files per post

Kunena 2.0 - Joomla 1.6 native!

• Turn j!1.6 native
• Take advantage of the new groups system
• imagine...

Obviously, this is not a closed list, all of your suggestion and wishlists in uservoice.kunena.com are taken into account, is just some of the most important things we are working on.

thanks so much for the post. My term ACL (access control level) may be wrong. Basically an overhaul on the permissions/groups. Ability to add groups, make certain forums/sub-forums viewable or hidden depending on group association etc.

Any tentative dates. I know exact dates are hard to stick to but a generalization?

It may not be an exact list but VERY ambitious at any rate!! Many Thanks to the team for excellent work!! You guys and gals really turned this thing around PDQ!!

We may break that 1.1 to more releases if there's too much to do. Top priority for 1.1 is:

* Advanced search
* Optimizations
* API
* Moderator tools

Others depend on these ones.

Will 1.0.8 still have support for ads as promised?
