Kunena 6.3.0 released

The Kunena team has announce the arrival of Kunena 6.3.0 [K 6.3.0] in stable which is now available for download as a native Joomla extension for J! 4.4.x/5.0.x/5.1.x. This version addresses most of the issues that were discovered in K 6.2 and issues discovered during the last development stages of K 6.3

This category contains miscellaneous, uncategorised third-party extensions (e.g. JomSocial, Community Builder, etc.) relating to older versions of Kunena that are no longer supported.

This category may also contain a few topics relating to K 1.6 that may have been moved here possibly by mistake.

The topics in this category are for historical interest only. Owing to the structural differences between K 1.6 and K 1.7, the ideas in these topics may not work with later versions and, for that reason, the topics are locked.

How can we get Kunena forums integrated into groups created in JomSocial?

this will be a very good idea... a thread will be created in groups to avoid duplicate discussion.

hope to see this soon

Yes the Kunena project would rock!

A few ideas:

Options:
1. Group forum created by default when group is created
2. Group administrator can create a group forum (optional check box)

Depending on parameters set by website administrator:

1. The group forum only displays within the group.
2. Displays in group and in public forum categories.
3. Another option is to allow group admin to select which public forum his group should be under or a default forum category can be set by website admin.
4. Whatever category the group is under in JS groups, it is also added to similar named category in public forums (kunena).

Optional:
1. Sub categories can be created by group admin. Website admin can set permissions whether to allow this or not. Website admin can set maximum allowed.
2. Group admin can select additional sub-moderators.
3. Group admin can select public or private forum status.

In addition:
1. In group and or public forums under each user's avatar it should display small group icon or badge, when you mouseover it, it displays the groups you are a member of with clickable link.
2. It would be nice to have group forum sef urls like this:
domain.com/forums/groupname

I am sure there are better ideas and or enhanced ones...

Our plans for integration already include that, but first a framework for custom group permissions must be done ;)

Good point in the badges

Ive told azrul regarding this and he mentioned "replacing jomsocial forum can easily be done by hacking our template file a little bit.."

anyway, Kunena devs, please send an email to [email protected] to discuss on better integration between JomSocial and Kunena.

;)
