Kunena 7.0.5 & Kunena 6.4.11 – Security Updates Released

The Kunena team has announce the arrival of Kunena 7.0.5 [K 7.0.5] in stable which is now available for download as a native Joomla extension for J! 5.4.x/6.0.x. This version addresses most of the issues that were discovered in K 6.2 / K 6.3 / K 6.4 and issues discovered during the last development stages of K 7.0.

The Kunena team is also pleased to announce the eleventh version of Kunena 6.4, a native Joomla extension for Joomla! 5.0, 5.1, 5.2, 5.3, 5.4 and 6.0.

This category contains miscellaneous, uncategorised user contributions, (templates, modules, plugins and hacks) relating to older versions of Kunena that are no longer supported.

This category may also contain a few topics relating to K 1.6 that may have been moved here possibly by mistake.

The topics in this category are for historical interest only. Owing to the structural differences between K 1.6 and K 1.7, these ideas in these topics will not work with later versions and, for that reason, the topics are locked.

Check the above link, then click on any forum. Notice that the RSS news module to the left is lost, because the ItemID changes.

Solution: Kunena should get the ItemID from the current URL.

Hi,

I have found this issue with other components when re-installing/upgrading. Always I need to recreate the menu items and modules assigned to the component. I guess that I wouldn't expect the new forum upgrade to be any different...

To my knowledge, it has never worked. To my knowledge, it's a bug. Can someone else confirm this bug, just so I know it's not me?

I'd pay to have this fixed...how can I contact the developers?

The issue is with Joomla itself. If you install a new component, which is what you are doing with this upgrade, the old ItemID will still point to the new component, but the modules that were on it are 'orphaned'. I had this problem with another completely different component when upgrading to a new version. I notice on you site you have two menus each with different ID's one to the new one and one to the old... Joomla has nevr been good with ID's, although its waaay better than it was back in the 1.0.* days.

No, this is a different issue. The forums at www.mentalhealthpractitioners.com/index....unc=listcat&catid=84 are simply a category of forums. You can link to a catgory of Forums. And when you do, each menu item gets its own Item ID. But................the links inside the forum itself still reflect the main forum link. The links inside the forum need to reflect the Item Id associated with the menu item that links to the cagegories.

As for losing the ItemID on upgrading...no that worked fine.
