This is a more detailed petition from a prior post last night.

I did the upgrade successfully, but having wierd problems/bugs with blank redirects / lost navigation tabs / flooding, etc.

1. After creating the full Menu-link for Kunena, the page comes out blank, and the links from the Lastest Post Modules hangs until it floods. [I delete it for the time being].

2. I then create a new menu link to Kunena Category index, but the navigation tabs don't show.

3. Thinking it may be a url problem, I disactivated sh404sef to use core Kunena component plug-in.

4. Futhermore, I set Kunena SEO urls to NO.

... after cleaning cache, I can navigate via mod_latest and Category menu. BUT the Category menu still shows NO navigation tabs. The navigation tabs don't show until you enter an actual thread?

After having everything more or less, working - without the navigation tabs working - I reset Kunena SEO to yes, and re-create the original Menu-link for Kunena.

... which takes me back to step 1.

Anyway the settings files are:

I'm answering my own post.... temporary solution was to create a redirect from a new menu item to:

www.domain.com/forum/index.html?view=listcat

I suppose this isn't the real solution however?

For any external link to Kunenaforum (I didn't mean the forum index link),
Go to Menu manager
You have to select type > alias then you have to see the right hand
Can you see the parameter? The Default Menu Item ??
Yes, under the kunenamenu you will see the forum tree? select Forum!

Finally, you will get Menulink type for the forum link.

Sorry, but the menulink creation for the new version of Kunena 1.6.0 just isn't working.

I've spent all morning going back and forth between SEO settings on sh404sef [just upgraded] and kunena.

I get internal conflicts with previously created URLs.

I then successfully navigate to the component - without navigation tabs ?!?

... I've got it working... but whoa ... linking as a menu item was problematic.

=>> IN a nutshell, I had to create and delete from the Kunena admin. And then externally link ??

Also saw some bugs with Kunena_latest module.

Yes, for some users, establishing a working Kunena menu causes problems. For most of us, we're "fortunate" (I guess) that we don't run into these problems. I understand that the development team is pouring a considerable effort into eliminating the causes of why these problems exist. Thank you for your patience.

Lucky you! I spent several weeks during the development working through half-a-dozen problematic other components that I had on my website. sh404SEF is just another one in a long list of Joomla extensions that people need to watch; K 1.6 may bring to light the evidence of problems with other Joomla extensions - problems that you were not previously aware of (problems that the developers of those products may not have been aware of, for that matter) - but K 1.6 does not cause those problems.

I've read other reports where users have done this. I spent about four days trying to figure out a problem with a user's website that required a similar kind of solution. In that case, the problem was solved in about 10 minutes by uninstalling the site template and using a different one. In that particular case, the user was much happier with the new template and he's now removed over 60% of other Joomla extensions that he's been accumulating over the last three years since he built his J! 1.5 website.

If you have a report about some defect with this module, please use a different topic. Let's not add something else to this one. Thanks.
