K1.6 Un-installation was created by dave22
Hi.
I am setting up a new website and want to use the kunena discuss feature however it isn't supported within flexicontent articles. Unless there is a fix or alternative plugin I'm missing, I want to revert back to the latest 1.5 Kunena release. I have tried a few times unsuccessfully to remove kunena 1.6.3 from my site. Can you give me instructions?
Thanks in advance.

G'day, dave22, and welcome to Kunena.
Did you already have K 1.5.x installed on your site before you installed K 1.6.3?

Hi sozzled.
No, just K1.6.3 and as it's still a site in development there's no posts which need to be kept.

Seems like a waste. You uninstall Kunena 1.6 just like you uninstall any other Joomla component. If you had K 1.5 installed previously, there's a "downgrade" option.

Thanks but I've tried that. Seems to uninstall fine but then when I install K1.5 there are errors. I even tried dropping the jos_jb* tables but still no luck - I can't install K1.5
and yes... it does seem like a waste. The reason I am reverting back to a previous version is because the discuss feature doesn't work with flexicontent articles. I could get it to work in K1.5 because I found a custom plugin which a french developer made specifically for flexicontent items. I'm eagerly awaiting an upgrade to his plugin so I can run K1.6 with kunena discuss.

I don't know anything about jos_jb* tables. jos_fb* tables, maybe.
Is Flexicontent really worth it? (Only you can answer that question)
Considering that K 1.5 development is, in effect, dead in the water, K 1.6 is the way to go (and after this version, there's the prospect of K 2.0 to come).
Uninstalling Kunena 1.6 will remove the software from your Joomla site but it may leave jos_kunena* tables behind. The existence of these tables should have no bearing on your ability to install K 1.5.
