Import K 1.5.12 content into K 1.6 at new subdirectory was created by ae3d
So here is the deal
I have my site installed at a specific sub directory on my domain ( www.Mysite.com/joomla )
I am installing a newer version of the site ( new template, upgraded components, etc) into say " Www.mywebsite/otherJoomla "
Ok its not LIVe yet and no i didnt install K! yet
i wanted to know if i directly installed K1.6 would i be able to transfer the posts, comments, etc from the old Kunena install to hte new one?
Reason i ask is, OLD Kunena install is version 1.5.12
New install is K 1.6
Would it be easier if i installed the same one i am running now ( k1.5 )
and then up did the upgrade steps?
if thats the case to be eaiser, how do i transfer the SQL info from the old one to the new one?

Hello,
The upgrade procedure sould be :
1°) Copy database tables from old site to new site with phpmyadmin by example
2°) On the new site, just install k1.6.1 the upgrade procedure will be done automatically

Thanks
those i already got taken care of
Users are just now imported however you missed my last question
ill ask it differently
When you say "Copy database tables from old site"
you are talking about just the DB tables referring to Kunena correct?
and these tables are listed as for example
_fb_announcement
_fb_categories
_fb_discussbot
and so on wit the "FB" in the table name?
I cant simply copy all the Joomla DB tables because that would mess up the template structure im doing
so i really need to be able to transfer the content of specific components
Since we are talking about Kunena here, im just asking about Kunena
posts | attachements | comments | etc
