Hello,

On my forum I have set the karma indicator to ‘yes’, the karma does show on the profile pages, however the images of minus and plus are not visible. But when I click with my mouse on the field where the minus and plus are supposed to be, the karma indicator does increase or decrease.
I already check with firebug, but I have no idea what I should adjust in order to make the images visible. Can anyone tell me what I need to configure in order to make the minus and plus visible?
If you would like to help me, I made an account so you can log in. The username = guest_k and the password = welcome
The website is young-adults.nl/index.php/forum

Thanking you in advance for your help and looking forward to hearing from you.

Best wishes,

Natasja

G'day, Natasja, and welcome to Kunena.

Thank you for posting your K 1.6 configuration report and for creating a test account so that we can see what might be happening.

I tried to use the test account details that you gave us but they did not work. As you know, only registered users can see the karma buttons (when the karma feature is enabled) and a user can only increase/decrease karma once within a six-hour period. This is to prevent the obvious abuse where someone can artificially increase/decrease someone's "points" when they may not have deserved that kind of treatment.

I could not see what was the cause of the problem at this time. If the test account information was wrong, you can PM the correct details to me and I will see what I can do for you. Thanks

Dear Sozzled,

Thank you for your reply. I just saw that indeed the password is not correct. I thought I checked it :S

And just to make sure I checked the karma indicator, which is set to 'yes'.
And thank you for your explanation of how the karma indicator works.

Looking forward to hear from you and I hope you can help me to solve the problem.

p.s. what means the abbrevation PM?

Best wishes,

Natasja

Thanks, Natassja. This is very peculiar!

I agree that there should be no reason why the Karma adjustment buttons should not display. I would, however, recommend that you upgrade to K 1.6.3. I would recommend that you upgrade to K 1.6.3 just in case there is something corrupted in your version of the Blue Eagle template. Let's see that working first before you customise the colour changes.

PM means private message. There is no need to do that at the moment because you have given us the correct account information. I edited your message so that only other forum moderators and account administrators can see this if they have a need.

There are other ideas that we might be able to try but let's start with the upgrade to K 1.6.3 first. OK?

Dear sozzled,

Thank you for your message. And for editing my message. I would like to upgrade, but I am afraid that the forum will not work anymore as it works now... I read on the kunena forum that there are still some tiny problems with the kunena 1.6.3, so I rather wait, as I don't have the knowledge to solve problems (if they would appear) myself. And everything works great now, besides the karma. But I can live with that :)

Don't get me wrong, I absolutely think Kunena is a great component!

Best wishes, Natasja

That's OK. To be totally honest with you, I would simply disable karma altogether and you'll be a lot better off (but that's just my slightly biased opinion). I would disable karma not because of this minor technical issue - but that's not a bad reason of itself. I would disable karma because the mechanism is too easily abused. Good luck with your Kunena forum.
