Question How to & Can I?

How to & Can I? was created by Jenn@NSPR
I just uploaded Kunena to replace another forum.
After migrating the old forum information the "Rules" page migrated information from another area of my website.
1) How do I get MY rules on the "Rules" page?
The "Topic Icon" selection section is missing
2) How do I get the Topic Icon selection section to show?
When migrating, all the user's Avatars were lost.
3) Is there a way to add user's Avatars from the back end?
4) Is there a way to change the title "Child Boards" to 'Subcategories'? The word "Child" doesn't sound very professional.
5) Is there a way to change the layout? I would like to have the Avatars on the Left side of the forum.
6) Can the dates of when posts were made be changed to the actual date (IE: 09/25/09) instead of "3 months ago"?
7) Is there a way to rearrange the tabs? Put 'Categories' first, 'Recent Discussions' second, 'My profile' third, etc...?
How do you add more and edit the Avatar picture avaiable in the gallery?
9) Is there a way for registered users to subscribe to a "Catagory" and receive emails when ever ANYTHING is posted in that catagory and subcatagories (childvboards)?
10) Is there a way registered users can reply to a post via thier email notification?
Sorry for all these questions. I've been searching for the answers for hours here on the forum and in the back end and can't seem to find any except for how to turn on the "Boardcode" section (now that's working fine).
Thank you for any help!

1) to get your rules on your forums, go to kunena forums configurations, front end, and there you'll see Rules Content ID. You need to create an article in joomla with your rules, and then input the id of the article here.
2) also in front end configuration, look for Selectable Topic Icons. Select "yes"
The rest of your questions are beyond my experience level as I am a newbie as well and haven't done much with my forums yet.
But my experience is that if you explore the forums you will find your answers. For example both of your first two questions are easily answered by looking in the forum configurations.
Good luck!

@ Craig - thanks for your help! I was able to get the "Rules" page up. I can't find "Selectable Topic Icons" to select 'yes'??
@ @quila -
4) Yes. In language file. Sorry, new to all of this. Where is language manager? Looked in "Edit CSS File", couldn't fine anything in the Kunena component.
5) Yes. In Kunena Template Manager (backend) - template parameters. I don't have a "Template Manager" that I can find. Is that with a paid version? Using free version.
6) Yes. In Kunena Configuration. I am unable to find where I change the date format in the "Kunena Configuration". There is no specific 'Date Formatting'. Sorry.
7) Yes. Joomla Menu Manager -> Kunena Menu. I do not have a "Kunena Menu". My forum is listed in the 'Top Menu' as "Forum Community". When I go to Joomla Menu Manager, there is no Kunena menu listed.
With FTP Client software. ???
9) Yes. When your Registered user show Category, at top of category is available button "Subscribe". I do not see a "Subscribe" button anywhere, in the Category, unless I am 'in' individual topics. Maybe I am saying it wrong. I need members to be able to subscribe to specific 'FORUMS'(Categories), not individual "Treads" (topics) within the forums. Sorry.
Sorry, I'm still learning about web design and Joomla components. Thank you for all the help and patience.

I'm trying to change the language of my forum for the Portuguese of Brazil pt-BR.
follow the step by step shown in: docs.kunena.org/index.php/Translating_Kunena
but when I install ( language.pt-BR.zip ) from the installer of joomla I get the following response:
Language Install: No core pack exists for the language :pt-BR
Install Language Error
