K 1.6.4
J! 1.6.3
SQL Server version: 5.1.47

Is it possible to force Guests to pass Captcha when posting? My Forum is getting too much spam.
I tried to install joomla15captcha ( code.google.com/p/joomla15captcha/ ) and followed the instructions ( docs.kunena.org/index.php/How_to_proper_...aptcha_in_kunena_1.6 ).
However, the right configuration pane where I need to insert kunena.post is absent.

Thank you

G'day, shaul_ei, and welcome to Kunena.

CAPTCHA for guest posts was added/improved in K 1.7. You need to upgrade to use CAPTCHA.

J! 1.6.3 is not supported any more. You should be using J! 1.7.3 instead.

Thank you Sozzled,
I have painfully upgraded both J&K to 1.7.3/1.7.1 but then found out that my host (SourceForge.net) is prohibiting reCaptcha by firewall.
Are you aware of a solution? perhaps a third-party replacement.

Thank you

I know nothing about firewalls interfering in the operation of Kunena CAPTCHA.

I can only advise you to read Using CAPTCHA spam protection in Kunena

I know nothing about firewalls interfering in the operation of Kunena CAPTCHA.

reCaptcha receives it's images from a Google server. When the user types the verification, reCaptcha checks it against data on the Google server.

This page holds a mixture of 1.5 to 1.7 information. It seems to me that on 1.7 the ONLY Captcha plugin available is reCaptcha. Correct?

The captcha system in K1.7+ is integrated directly in Kuenna, actually there isn't any others ways to use an another captcha systme with Kuenna. I hope that we can do something in a future version of Kunena

Do you have asked your host why he blocks google captcha request ?

I don't provide support by PM, because this can be useful for someone else.
