I need to remove the social networking links which appear alongside every Topic heading (Facebook, Twitter, etc.), but can't see any way to do this in the configuration options.

Is there an easy way to deactivate these?

The "social network links" are a standard feature of Kunena. Disabling this standard feature cannot be done by a configuration setting - there is no easy switch to disable this feature. The appearance of the icons is dependent on whether people (your users) have entered information about themselves in their user profiles. These icons and links only appear on a user's Kunena user profile page.

Although it's possible to make it difficult for users to access their Kunena user profile page, you cannot completely disable the features. Therefore the inclusion or non inclusion of such information is entirely in the hands of your users.

I would also like to add a further comment to this topic (that was originally posted in the K 1.6 Support category): please read the category description, especially the second paragraph, below

This category is for Kunena version 1.6 issues only. For a faster response, please make sure you include your K 1.6 configuration settings report in your posts. We do NOT support test versions. Before asking for support, please read the guides posted as sticky topics in this category.

Please do not use this category to ask for help if K 1.6 does not work for you in the same way as it works here at this website. Please do not use this category to request a change to the standard behaviour of Kunena.

I have moved your topic to the "common questions" category because it seems more appropriate for it to be located there.
