Hi

I have just installed Kunena, and i have a little problem.
When i submit a post and the subject is empty, then i get a warning, but all the text that i have written in the textfield is removed !!! And the Topic icon and Category is reset.

What should i do to correct this problem ?

Regards
Picht

When I try to create a new topic with an empty subject, I cannot press the Submit button at all! How can you do this? Is there something that you didn't tell us?

When using FF or Chrome it works fine, but using IE the problem is there. I have tried on 2 PC, one with XP and another with Win7, and both have the problem with IE

Thank you for the report. This appears to be yet another case where Internet Explorer 8 makes a complete mess of things :pinch:

Yes, issue confirmed as isolated to IE8.

Workaround: don't use IE8, use Firefox, and remind yourself that you need to enter a subject before you press the Submit button. I mean, the pink background is a bit of a hint, isn't it?

How fast will an update be present ?

I can live with it since i dont use IE normally, but the users will hate this problem, and i cant blame them :(

I'm about to implement a forum, and if it's not fixed i will have to look for another solution. :(

Your choice to use an alternative solution is entirely your decision. No forum solution is perfect and, as much as we would all like, it's impossible to anticipate every possible thing that users will do even if the likelihood of them doing those things is a one-in-a-million long-shot.

As I mentioned earlier, as soon as a user tries to type something into the message area, the background colour of the subject textbox immediately changes to pink.

I agree with you, that if most forum users were like me (and wrote a minimum of 50 words every time they posted somethings) people would feel rather irritated by the prospect of having to retype their carefully-worded essay. However, most people are not like me, and the inconvenience of having to rewrite a dozen words is not usually something that they'd worry about. Besides, after encountering the scenario that you described, people would learn fairly quickly to take care before they pressed the submit button.

I don't know when this issue will be fixed. This is, as far as I'm aware, the first reported case of this problem.
