Is it possible to show a module (non Kunena) within a specific Category?

J 1.7
K 1.7

If you mean, is it possible to place modules (like Google AdSense) within a list of categories or topics, yes, it's possible. See Module Positions in the Wiki

Yes, unless otherwise stated, the advice for K 1.6 equally applies to K 1.7. Keeping the Wiki up-to-date is a time-consuming job. Try the approach I've suggested to see if this answers your question.

Hmmm, not found it as yet

I have used the 'facebook like' in the kunena_msg_n before though so hopefully I can get round this

the examples in the wiki link though explain how to place within the forum table and i want it placed within the templates right section on a forum category page not within the forum table itself which is what the kunena_x_n does

The article Module Positions lists all the module positions available to you in the Blue Eagle template. Other templates may use something different. Use the Joomla Module Manager to manually define one of those positions for your particular module.
