Kunena 7.1.0 Released

The Kunena team has announce the arrival of Kunena 7.1.0 [K 7.1.0] in stable which is now available for download as a native Joomla extension for J! 5.4.x/6.0.x./6.1.x./6.2.x This version addresses most of the issues that were discovered in K 6.2 / K 6.3 / K 6.4 / K7.0 and issues discovered during the last development stages of K 7.1
Just a reminder: K6.4.16 receives only securities fixes until end of 2026, so it's advised for users to upgrade to K7.1.

This is for users to help other users, to discuss topics that relate to migrating from other web-based forums and converting the data into a form that will operate with Kunena.

It is important to note that the Kunena team does not have a standard, recommended or supported protocol for these ideas and that posting questions in this category may not receive advice from team members.

I would like to switch from SMF to Kunena. I have joomla! 1.5 with SMF 1.1.16 on the old site, and joomla!
2.5.6 with Kunena 2.0.1

I see a lot of topics about going to SMF from Kunena, no idea why, as we're missing options in SMF.

Does anyone know of a way to go to Kunena, please let me know.
If you have a reason to go to SMF instead of using Kunena, please let me know too..

Has anyone come up with a way of doing this? I am using SMF 2.0.2 but I really want to move to Kunena, if there is a way to do this can some please let me know?

we eventually got it working. First update SMF to the latest version.
Then install kunena 1.7 (not the latest version) it has a forum importer for SMF 2.0 which works.
After that we upgraded to Kunena 2.0x

A few buts, all images and files connected to topics or replies were missing after the import.
Same goes for all the avatars. However, we really wanted to switch, so we let our community upload and relink whatever they wanted...took them 2 days before we didn't miss anything anymore!

BTW, do you have a copy of 1.7.0 there doesn't seem to be a copy in the downloads section.
