Display forum and thread titles to all, hide contents was created by david-jp
What code needs to be edited so that guests can view the forum title and thread titles of registered access members?
Thanks,
David

I'm not sure I understand the question. I don't know if any code has to be modified, but I'm also not sure what you want to do.
You can arrange things so that guests can view the forum - you can arrange things so that they can post to the forum, if you want them to - or you can restrict their access to "read-only".
Before allowing non-members to view the various particulars of your members, have you consulted with your members?
In terms of modifying the existing software to overcome the built-in security arrangements, apart from creating a maintenance headache for yourself you also risk exposing your members' private details to anyone. If guests want to anonymously find what people have posted they can use the forum's Advanced Search feature or they can, themselves, register, login and look at other member's profiles.

I have the same issue. What I have is a paid forum site with two levels, one level is a guest(non-registered member) and a registered (paid) member.
What I want to have happen is all guests can see every forum and topic title in the forums but they can not see the actual topic content until they (pay) register. If a guest actually clicks on a topic title they need to be taken to a sales letter to purchase a membership for the forum.
Once they are paid forum members they can then see the topic content when they login and click on the topic title.
In the board configuration you can only set it so guests can not write content but they can still see the content. I want the guest to have to pay to see the actual topic content.
So my question is what code needs to be changed to accomplish this and where is the code located?

That works if you want all the forums to be registered only.
But what of forums you want to show the contents to guests?
It also won't work for multiple levels if using JACL or other ACP.

Hi David,
yes you are right, this is only a hack. When Joomla 1.6 become stable the Kunena will have what you want. Need to wait.
