The Kunena team has announce the arrival of Kunena 6.2.6 [K 6.2.6] which is now available for download as a native Joomla extension for J! 4.4.x/5.0.x. This version addresses most of the issues that were discovered in K 6.1 / K 6.2 and issues discovered during the last development stages of K 6.2

Question Is there anyway to play flv files ( located on other websites " not youtube " ) in kunena threads ?

No doubt that Kunena is the best forum for joomla with all those nice features .. I have been searching for 2 days now ( tested almost all flv players for joomla ) and none of them worked on kunena .. it works fine if you provide the youtube links but what if the flv file is located on my website not youtube ?
Please help!

It is possible...

Install the Allvideos plugin by joomlaworks.gr ( joomlaworks.googlecode.com/files/plg_jw_allvideos-v3.3_j1.5.zip )

Enable using mambots in Kunena config.

In a thread use :
Code:
{flvremote}http://www.yourserver.com/test.flv{/flvremote}

Read the manual here: www.joomlaworks.gr/content/view/16/42/

Thank you very much for your reply .. after doing what you mentioned it keeps saying ( video not found or access denied.
my website is www.ankarasatrancgrubu.com

on articles in joomla :-
(after copying the file test.flv to \images\stories\videos and another copy to the root directory of the website)
the code {flv}test{/flv} works fine.
also
{flvremote} www.ankarasatrancgrubu.com/test.flv{/flvremote } works fine in articles.

but on Kunena :-
{flvremote} www.ankarasatrancgrubu.com/test.flv{/flvremote } didn't work.
and also {flv}test{/flv} didn't work

So basicly both codes works fine in articles but doesn't work on kunena threads

Am I missing something ?
Thanks in advance

So simply this means that the latest kunena forum does not support flv videos ?
Anyway .. thanks for your replies

Replied by C0n on topic Kunena Video Play flv files ?
Ive seen kunena video play multiple media files from many diffrent sites but heres one ive never been able to intergrate into the forum for example.

a youtube video embeded into kunena forum thread looks like this :
Code:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cRzHxR3JCTw

(because kunena will automaticly embed it from the url it doesnt need the tags)

a mp3 file looks like this :
Code:
[video]http://bittwiddlers.org/ftp/jim/recordings/Battle%20Without%20Honor%20Or%20Humanity.mp3[/video]

(somehow mp3 files can play through the video tags)

im curious if its possible to do this same thing with flv files ?

I've made the same experience: Embedding remote video sources using AllVideos Reloaded and
Code:
{flvremote}<URL>.flv{/flvremote}

is simply not possible in Kunena.

IT SURE IS POSSIBLE!!! Please view
forum.networkmagic.nl/index.php?option=c...=29&id=20&Itemid=118

You can get this done to install a component called 'AllVideos Reloaded'. joomlacode.org/gf/project/allvideos15/frs/ .

As soon as you have installed it, be sure that all files are activated. Check the right path in Plugins/Content - AllVideos Reloaded. Default it is: /images/stories/(here you can fill in the map of your own e.g. videos)/

Now you go to your Kunena forum and start a topic. Where you want the video to appear, simply place this tag: {flv}nameofyourflvfile{/flv} (-e.g. {flv width="640" height="385"}video{/flv}-)

Thats it! :woohoo:

Have fun with it
