Own Kunena Login was created by @quila
Hi all,

the most asked question by Kunena users is a problem to Login into Kunena and need to use Joomla Login, always with redirection to home page of the site.

Well, now you don't need to install any more another login module to alteration, your user don't need to do Login into Kunena using Joomla login. With this patch your users stay always on the same page where want to post.

With this patch you have login module integrated in Kunena and you have another page for login whenever you want to login.

This patch is for default_ex template. If you want apply this patch to another template you must install this patch manually like is described in piont 2 of installation.

This is not a Module, all is integrated into Kunena!

Profilebox before login

Profilebox after login

Installation

BACKUP YOUR KUNENA

1. If you use original Kunena without any change to file or hack, just unzip the file on your PC and via FTP upload folders to your Joomla root and overwrite existing file.

2. If you have some hack or modification in the file of your forum then apply manually the change to changed file you find inside patch. When you open the file just do the search for "@quila" in the file.

If you use another language then english there is a some line to translate on the beginning of the kunena.english.php file.

the changed files is:
administrator / components / com_kunena / language / kunena.english.php
components / com_kunena / template / default_ex / kunena.forum.css
components / com_kunena / template / default_ex / showcat.php
components / com_kunena / template / default_ex / view.php
components / com_kunena / template / default / post.php
components / com_kunena / template / default / plugin / profilebox / profilebox.php

then there is a new files:
components / com_kunena / lib / kunena.login.php
components / com_kunena / template / default / plugin / login / login.php

If you don't use english language you need to insert this
Code:
// patch kunena login @quila DEFINE('_PROFILEBOX_FORGOT_USERNAME', 'Forgot your username?'); DEFINE('_PROFILEBOX_FORGOT_PASSWORD', 'Forgot your password?'); DEFINE('_PROFILEBOX_CREATE_ACCOUNT', 'Create an account'); DEFINE('_KUNENA_LOGIN_MESSAGE', 'In order to login you must be registered. Registering takes only a few moments but gives you increased capabilities. The board administrator may also grant additional permissions to registered users. Before you register please ensure you are familiar with our terms of use and related policies. Please ensure you read any forum rules as you navigate around the board.'); DEFINE('_KUNENA_LOGIN_FORUM', 'Only community members can participate in forum threads. You must register or log in to contribute.');
to your language file located in the same place and translate the line in your langage.

How this patch work?

Your forum is set to "NO" Public Read / Write! - Only Registered user can write a post.

When your users come to your site and is NOT loged in, they have available button "Reply Topic", "New Thread", "Reply" and "Quote"

Example: Your user click on "Quote" button (or any other)

will be redirected to Login Page

After inserting the login data and click to "Login"

will be directed to write post page.

If you find some bug please report.

Enjoy

Regards

This is great work, @quila, and I sincerely hope that your login patch finds its way into the next official release of Kunena. This solution has been a long time in coming. Excellent! B)

Hello, I installed the new login patch and it works perfectly.

I did notice though IE 8 is giving me the following message in the lower left corner of the browser when I click on my forum link. When I login though, the ! message goes away and all is good. Is there a way to make the ! error message go away without having to login?

(When I click on the ! mark, below is the message I receive)

Webpage error details

Hi ppeluse,

this is a language problem.

Be sure to upload a kunena.english.php to folder

administrator / components / com_kunena / language

and overwrite existing file.

If you don't use english language you need to insert this
Code:
// patch kunena login @quila DEFINE('_PROFILEBOX_FORGOT_USERNAME', 'Forgot your username?'); DEFINE('_PROFILEBOX_FORGOT_PASSWORD', 'Forgot your password?'); DEFINE('_PROFILEBOX_CREATE_ACCOUNT', 'Create an account'); DEFINE('_KUNENA_LOGIN_MESSAGE', 'In order to login you must be registered. Registering takes only a few moments but gives you increased capabilities. The board administrator may also grant additional permissions to registered users. Before you register please ensure you are familiar with our terms of use and related policies. Please ensure you read any forum rules as you navigate around the board.'); DEFINE('_KUNENA_LOGIN_FORUM', 'Only community members can participate in forum threads. You must register or log in to contribute.');
to your language file located in the same place and translate the line in your langage.

Hope this helps
