I put up our online forum a while ago (months), and even though I know there are posts regarding a certain topic, if I search for words that should be included, such as the sport in question, and the state we're in, and the words in the forum posting, Google doesn't report anything back.
I had Joomla SEO turned on, and I figured that Google would pick up everything in Kunena as well.
Am I missing something that will allow the threads to be indexed???

Let me see if I understand your question correctly.
You are having a problem with Google search Is that right? Are you having a similar problem with Kunena search?

Its just using Google in general, if I search on the main google.com page and type in my search info, I would imagine I should see some of my postings on our Kunena forum.
I'm not. But to answer your question, if I do a Kunena search, I do find the postings I'm looking for.

Are your Kunena categories, forums, topics accessible to the general public without the need to login?
Have you modified your robots.txt site file to exclude your forum pages from being spidered by Google? Are other [non-Kunena] pages of your website appearing in Google searches? How long ago did you convert your website to use Joomla SEO/SEF settings?

Yes, you can view the topics and categories without having to be logged in, and yes, if I search for words in the Joomla articles, they do appear in Google's results.
I don't have access to the robots.txt file, but I'm sure I didn't set it to be disallowed
