Question 404 error after registering

With clean installed joomla 1.5.11 (only small graphics/template alterations) , using Kunena 1.5.3, after registering, and validating the 1st user, the link in the main menu to Kunena no longer works, but gives a 404 error. Before this it worked fine.

I've searched this forum for answers, but most problems seam to relate to plugins and other changes to Joomla, of which I have made none.

Can anyone tell me what I have done wrong or how to solve this problem?

Thanks!

This is very easy to fix. In Joomla Backend / Main Menu (or where your link to Kunenaforum is) set the Link to Kunena again. That's all.

Unfortunately you have to do this in the moment again with every new update.

Seems not to work, the link remains the same. (.../index2.php/forum)

it should be index.php, not index2.php

Any idea what could cause the 2 to be added?

In the menu setting the link reads index.php?option=com_kunena

The error occurs in both ie8 and ff 3.0.11.

Are you using Joomla SEF or an additional SEF?

Is rewrite engine on? (php setting)

Did you change the joomla htacess.txt to .htaccess ?
